Since many worshipers come to the temple and are busy, we have received many inquiries about graves and memorial services in recent years.

Jorakuji is a temple of the Jodo sect. The Pure Land Buddhism, which was founded by Honen Shonin, returned to complaining and became the Pure Land Buddhist Gate. We never complete our training in this human world. I am full of my own life. I understand that I am a human being who cannot reach the end of the Buddhist path, and ask Amida for help. In addition, it is said that only the Western Paradise Pure Land is a Pure Land where those who had a relationship in our lifetime can reunite with each other. Even if these people ask for a grave and their relatives visit and take care of them at first, most of them are unrelated if their generation changes. In addition, some people have no choice but to take over the bones of their estranged relatives and seek a memorial service.
The Jorakuji Eiyo Memorial Pagoda is a [combination grave] where an unspecified number of people are laid together, and Toyama will take responsibility for the memorial service for many generations. There are no problems of inheritance, no ties, etc. in this grave.

I want to put my pet's bones in the pet grave
Pets are members of the family. I think it's a pain to have a member of my family passed away.
A pet memorial tomb was erected at Jorakuji Temple so that the owner would not regret it so that he could see him off properly.
Some owners blame themselves. I can understand the painful feelings. People who keep pets hard and love them will think so. However, like human beings, death is destined to be irresistible no matter how hard it may be.
If your favorite owner is sad and blames you, your deceased pets will be sad too.
Let's bury a member of the family in a pet grave and visit as a place where you can talk "Thank you for spending time with us" and "It was fun, I'm glad I met you".

[Cremation and bone laying]
If the animals are unfortunately gone, they will be cremated and memorialized as remains.
Small animals kept at home in Yokosuka City can be cremated at the small animal cremation facility (1-26 Kugocho, telephone 836-4195) for a fee.
You can either bring it directly to the facility or request it to be collected at your home. In either case, if you wish, we will return the burnt bone at a later date.

I want you to cook
Otakiage is a ritual of offering amulets, relics, dolls, and thoughtful loved ones to cleanse them with flames. Depending on the region, it is also called "Dondoyaki" or "Dondosai". Recently, some people have brought it in. At Jorakuji Temple, we will hold a memorial service in front of the principal idol and cook it with the Nembutsu.
We accept heartfelt items, relics that you want to hold a memorial service, amulets and bills of the gods and Buddha.

The precious life that has been associated with this world can sometimes be a sad farewell. Mizuko kuyo is a memorial service to pray for the souls of babies who could not be born due to such miscarriage or abortion. Many mothers have no room in their hearts if it is their responsibility. Ask Amitabha for your baby and keep an eye on him until one day his life dies.
